More Damage than Good

In the "comments" section from the last blog entry you will find an interesting situation described. My response is short and sweet. Now here is a longer version.

If anyone tells you that your healing is not working because you don't believe enough in what the practitioner is believing....run like the wind! Practitioners who do this sort of stuff to people are either ignorant or malicious. Having worked with energy systems for over 40 years, I can tell you that Universal Healing energy is, tatataDah!, UNIVERSAL!! The Universe doesn't care what belief system one has. It is there for all to access and will provide whatever is necessary for each and every one of us. It is indeed as simple as that.

Universal Healing energy does not concern itself with petty stuff like if we are Atheist, Catholic, Protestant, Islam, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Pagan or the many thousands of alternatives that there are to Christianity. Universal Healing energy is there no matter what our beliefs, cultures, creeds, races, genders, ages and so on. For someone to say that if it doesn't work then you don't believe the right things is actually quite abusive and the kind of cult mentality that screws up the world in which we live. Since when does any healing modality that isn't working not get refined so that it will work? If it can't be refined so that it does work, then it gets scrapped for one that does work. The modality that was mentioned by my reader in the comments section has actually taken smatterings of ancient energy technologies, bastardized them, and called them their own. No wonder it doesn't work well! No wonder the only thing that they can think of is that it must be the "fault" of the one being healed if it doesn't work. This sort of idiocy infuriates me on personal and professional levels. Stuff like this breezes through town and leaves in its wake so many screwed up individuals who then need to seek other modalities to put them back together again that the rest of the local therapists end up feeling like all the work these people did for so long had a semi truck run right through it. Then it ends up being months before Humpty gets put back together again. In the meantime, these poor people have had to spend not just the amount of the tuition for the course, but then hundreds of dollars in repairs after the instructors have long since written them off as "non-believers". In my personal opinion, people should actually consider suing those who abuse them in such a way.

On this Thanksgiving Monday, I am grateful for all the therapists and actual Light workers who are out there to help those in the community who are ailing. I am also thankful for the sanity that is brought into the equation with the simple acceptance of Love in our lives.

The Night Shift

I call it the night shift because I seem to do a lot of work during that time. As many of you know, I am a dream walker. I get messages in my dream state, connect with others through the dream weave to deliver messages and send healing energies, and have a whole other job at an ethereal collage that can be accessed through the dream state. I often joke that 90% of what I do for the world I don't get paid for and few know about.

But that is what makes some of it so special. It is like being an anonymous donor. And that anonymity gives me a feeling of even more authenticity in my work because I don't have to deal with people's feelings of gratitude that sometimes gets mixed up with feelings of obligation. The gratitude part I can accept whole heartedly. But when it becomes obligation then people get a little strange with what they feel they must do for you, whether you want them to or not. Sometimes, because of the abilities I have been born with, people will treat me like I am something from out of this world or like I am a god or something. Please! I pass gas just like everyone else! I am human and, yes, I need to be loved and honored, but not worshiped. I think that it is easy for everyone to get caught up in false humility (Who? Little ol' me?) and also to get caught up in ego trips (But of course you worship me...I'm so above everyone in the world!). I would rather that everyone just be themselves, authentically.

John Mason said "You were born an original. Don't die a copy." I have to agree with this. It is more important to be a first rate version of yourself than it is to be a second rate version of anyone else. After all, that way we can avoid the temptation to buy into mob mentality. We can also then move 50 or more years ahead in consciousness and help to pull the rest along into the 21st century. Sometimes it can be a game of tug of war. But if they pull back too hard, just let go of the rope. After all, they have free will and can make their own decisions. But we also don't need to be tied down to them. We can simply continue to move forward.

The Temple Speaks

I have been away for a while now doing some work in Alberta. I met so many fabulous people on my journey. I am overwhelmed with the hospitality of my hostess and the depth of friendship that is formed not only with her but with her family and friends and members of the community. My gratitude is deep and the honor I feel just knowing these folks is huge.

Every time I meet new people I become so aware of the many different forms that people take in this life. Some are tall and some are not, some are thin and some are not, some have blond hair and some do not, or if you are like me you have no hair at all! We choose such interesting temples in which to house our souls and through which to allow our spirits to express themselves on this physical plane. I think many people in this realm don't even consider the fact that we actually participate in the process of creating our physical temples. We sometimes write this process off as strictly genetic. In doing this we miss out on the opportunity to recognize ourselves as co-creators in the universe. Although we need certain DNA in order to have the right form to live on this earth, we also have the stuff that flows in between the DNA strands. This is the spirit stuff that can't be seen with a microscope. How do I know it is there? Because I have seen it when journeying through my body and the bodies of others while doing healing work. The fact that it can't be seen with the naked eye or with a microscope doesn't mean that it does not exist. After all, no one has actually seen an atom. And look at what we already know about those little critters! The fact that we know they exist allows us the opportunity to communicate with them what we need them to do. Medical science uses this technology all the time. Unfortunately this technology is also used at times to create destructive things such as atomic bombs. The trick is to have responsibility and ethics in what we create.

So when we are creating our physical well being, we have to take responsibility for it. We don't do all that well if we expect someone else to do all the work and we just have to sit there and continue the poor habits that led to our illness in the first place. We live in a culture where popping a pill to remedy a symptom is the norm. The problem with this norm is that it is slowly killing us. The more conscious we become of what is healthy for us, the more co-creative power we can attain. The more co-creative power we attain, the more good health and well being we can manifest.

Good Relations

A person should never feel caged in a relationship. Relationships are meant to be learning experiences, but the experiences are better learned in an open and loving environment. When we are in situations where we feel smothered and isolated, we not only have huge rushes of adrenaline that make us feel like bolting for our lives, we also develop respiratory issues on a physical level. This is because of the extremely close connection between the body and the emotions. So it is extremely important to make sure that when we are in relationships we are not being manipulated or controlled by our partners and that we are not manipulating and controlling them.

The most beautiful relationship is one in which both partners accept and love each other and are able to support each others' growth and development. It is one in which just thinking about the other brings a smile to your face and a warm feeling in your heart. It is one in which we become inspired to thank the powers that be, on a daily basis, for bringing us to each other. We may not know what tomorrow brings, but we can be happy and caring today and nurture each other in ways that strengthen each other for whatever may come to us tomorrow.

Spirit would not want anything less for us.

Helping Hands

As I write this, I am looking at a painting that my first born daughter did when she was 20 months old. It is a finger painting with numerous hand prints all in a swirl of rainbow colors. Her hands were so tiny then. She is 12 years old now. I remember sitting with her as she painted it. She was fascinated by the colors, and amazed at the feel of the paint on her hands. She would put a hand print on the paper, then look at her hand intently. When she was done, she was definitely DONE and wanted her hands cleaned up RIGHT NOW.

So I lent her a helping hand and cleaned her up. She has become one of the most helpful people I know. When bowling a number of years ago, she was very attentive to a 3 year old who wanted to take the bowling balls from the rack and hand it to each of the bowlers. My daughter made sure that, if she was going to be doing that, that she know how to do it properly so that her fingers wouldn't get slammed when the next bowling ball came through the chute. And every time the 3 year old handed her a ball my daughter smiled and thanked her very graciously.

I feel inspired by her in this. I enjoy helping others and always remember to have gratitude for those little acts of kindness that others show me. I think it is important in the balanced functioning of the world for us to lend helping hands and to be grateful to those who do the same for us. And the more grateful we are, the more help is provided. Thus, a prayer of gratitude is one of the most powerful prayers of all.

Ancient Chinese Proverb

There is an ancient Chinese Proverb that goes, "Before enlightenment, we chop wood and haul water. After enlightenment, we chop wood and haul water." I love that one. It speaks to the simplicity of life. So often I have encountered those whom I lovingly refer to as "space cadets". You know the ones. You find them everywhere. They are so "spiritually attuned" that they have no basis in this world, are completely ungrounded and often do more damage than good in the delivery of their "spiritual messages." These are people who could seriously use some work on their base chakra! After all, the more grounded and stable we are, the higher we can authentically fly.

Those of us who actually do the work involved know that the world still has its demands and we still have our basic human needs. So we chop wood and haul water because it needs to be done. We don't wait around and spend our time meditating when what needs to be attended to is going unacknowledged and neglected. Meditation has its time and place. So does eating and sleeping and working and making ourselves not just "good people", but people who are "good for something." Some of the most spiritually advanced folks I have encountered are very common. They consist of carpenters, mechanics, farmers, social workers, taxi cab drivers, counselors, police officers, mail delivery people, nurses and the like, just to mention a few. These are not people who are discarding their attire, donning strange robes, and trying to save the world by denying the world's importance.

We are here for a purpose. We cannot fulfill our purpose if we are denying the world around us. We can only fulfill our purpose if we are here and now and attending to the needs of the world around us. It really does not matter how simple or how elaborate that work is. We can find enlightenment while chopping wood and hauling water. Enlightenment is about a conscious connection. That conscious connection can only happen if one is in the moment and completely aware of the importance of the simple things in life. And while I am at it, I might as well mention that I don't think we pay people nearly enough in their menial jobs for the work and the service they provide. If someone is serving me coffee, I like to tip them. Yes, they did the job they are paid to do. But I still don't think that they are paid enough. The mere fact that they are there and handing me the coffee says to me that I don't have to go to the trouble of making it myself or cleaning up after myself once the coffee is done. This type of thing is important to me because it makes my life easier.

At first, when someone would leave me a tip for the healing work I do for them, I found it a little strange. I felt a bit uncomfortable with the concept, until a dear friend, who was also utilizing my service, said to me that she felt that my fee was minimal in comparison with the impact that I have in her life. Wow. Now it was my turn to step up to the plate with a healthy dose of gratitude and be able to say a heart felt "thank you." And this type of thing ripples on. I have given money to people that I feel are worth the investment, and I have done so when my own financial situation at times is a little shaky. But it ripples. I then pick up three new clients and they help make up for the smidgen of money that I sent out. If I treat money as an abundant flow, it proves itself to be so.
